In these unprecedented times, vaccination against CoVID-19 has turned out to be the only way to be relatively safe these days. However, in India, catching a glimpse of an empty slot, let alone booking one has become a game of the fastest finger first. Therefore, I decided to build this Node.js based WhatsApp bot that can check, track and inform about empty vaccination slots.
Teachable machine is an amazing tool developed by Google that makes classification based Machine Learning accessible for everyone. Integrating it into a Chrome extension allows an almost hands-free usage of Google Meet (Workspace Edition). This extension might help people with reduced motor function, or those who are using Google Meet far away from their system. There is a slight caveat. The dataset that was used to train this has a sample size of one. So if one needs to use this, they need to retrain the model with their own webcam data for accuracy.
Fun fact: Hyperthymesia is a condition that results in a bulletproof memory. Sadly, not everyone has it. Instead people use alarms, reminders, etc. However, the most effective way I've found is to be reminded via the most used app on almost everyone's phone: WhatsApp. That's right, Rebot is your regular reminder tool, but on WhatsApp. You can now create, view and delete reminders, directly from WhatsApp.

Then Lookout aims to solve this issue by providing a lookout for you (i.e., the text you specify) on Google Meet! It works by parsing the captions and alerts when it detects your keyword.
